PATRIOTS DEFEATED BY JAGUARS 23-22 ON MISSED EXTRA POINT IN MY 2007 NFL PRO STRATEGY FOOTBALL REPLAY

On January 21, 2007, the Patriots and Jaguars faced off in the AFC Divisional Playoff Game at Gillette Stadium. The temperature was a chilly 7 degrees. After nearly four quarters of intense play, Jacksonville won 23-22 when Stephen Gostkowski missed an extra point with 5:01 left in the game.

Tom Brady was 14 for 21 with two touchdown passes during the game. He led his team to a potential game-tying touchdown with 5 minutes left, but they were unable to convert the extra point attempt. David Garrard led Jacksonville to victory by going 17 for 30 and one touchdown pass throughout the course of the game. The defenses played well and there were no turnovers in the game.

The Patriots had multiple chances to take the lead late in the fourth quarter but failed. This gave Jacksonville ample time to run out clock and end the Patriots season.

The Patriots put up a valiant effort but ultimately came up short against Jacksonville. This day will always be remembered as one of New England’s most heartbreaking losses in franchise history.

I began this replay in the hope of completing an undefeated season. Something the Patriots failed to do when they lost the Super Bowl to the Giants. My record was15-2. It just isn't easy to win a Super Bowl, never mind going undefeated.
